Sunday Service

On Sunday, October 22nd, please join us for “Listening to Your Heart” with Sophia Doescher, MDiv.

Doescher (she/they) recently graduated from Harvard Divinity School, pursuing congregational ministry and chaplaincy. Originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, and nurtured within Cedar Lane UU Church, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from New College of Florida. Since moving to Boston to begin her studies, Sophia has nurtured a passion for UU ministry and chaplaincy, discovering her call to mental health chaplaincy through internships at McLean Hospital and Boston Medical Center. This Fall, Sophia has begun her ministerial internship at First Church in Belmont, Unitarian Universalist. Sophia is driven by a deep love for UU community and a desire to explore different ways of being that center around vulnerability and relationship.

What does it mean to listen to your heart? Our busy lives ask much of us, and sometimes the seemingly simple act of listening must become another multitask in our day. Yet, making space for this deep listening may reveal and strengthen our relationship with our own history and the stories of our ancestors. Join us as we explore the sacredness of listening and the beautiful connections that lie within it.

October’s theme is Heritage.
