A new church year is starting on September 13, 2026.  We will be celebrating our homecoming with a water communion.  The water communion is celebrated in most UU churches at the beginning of each new church year.  Remember to bring a small amount of water, but if you forget, we will have some here.

We are using Soul Matters this church year and its monthly themes.  The theme for September is “Beginnings” which is appropriate to begin our new year.  I want everyone to ponder what is a homecoming and what makes a beloved community.  How do we at CVUU do this?  Remember that our values are actions, verbs to do, not just talk about.

We are already planning for a new church year and faith development classes (RE).  Registration is now open:

Children and Youth must be registered to be able to participate in RE.

  • Faith Development Classes (RE) will begin on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
  • Teacher Dedication during Middle Message on Sunday, September 13, 2026

Summer intergenerational activities (all ages), 12:00-1:00 PM, in the Social Hal

Upcoming Adult Events:

  • Art for the New Year/You with Lynda Simmons will resume in September.
  • Stitchers Group is up and running. It meets at church the second Thursday at 7:00 PM and the third Wednesday at noon of each month. All levels are welcome!
  • Good to Go Series: Organ Donation Workshop, Sunday, September 13, 2026 in the Sanctuary, after worship.
  • Exploring Interfaith Paths: To lead participants in interfaith based discussion, contemplation, and practices, and designed to encourage attendees to explore religions pathways in ways that build interconnectedness and communal understanding. Second Saturdays, (9/12, 10/10, 11/14, 12/12, 1/9/27) 10-11:30 AM.
