The CVUU Board of Directors met on Thursday, April 18, 2024, via Zoom. Board meeting minutes are typically available upon request from the CVUU Board Secretary or the Congregational Administrator (Susie Gullixson) approximately 30 days after the date of the Board meeting. The Board meets every month, either via Zoom or in person.
The meeting is usually on the third Thursday of each month at 7 pm. The meeting is open to congregants to observe. Congregational members who want to present items to the Board must notify CVUU Board President David Kidd before the meeting, so they can be included on the agenda. The following is a synopsis of pertinent items. The next Board meeting will be May 16, 2024.
Rev Viola: The Minister is currently coordinating the Covenant Groups and is facilitating the Covenant Group which meets on the third Sunday. A Covenant Group meets on the second Sunday and is facilitated by a member of the congregation. There are other covenant groups in existence, but they are not overseen by the Minister. The Bereavement Support Group meets on the third Tuesday of each month. It has been experiencing consistent attendance and has attracted people from outside the congregation. Three people completed the “Sermon Writing and Service Creation” workshop led by the Minister, which ended on Mar. 23rd. They have signed up to lead three summer services.
Rev Mark: The Easter Egg Hunt was a great success. Chalice Camp for the youth is currently being planned for the summer. Adult RE continues to thrive with several offerings. The Playground is still underway with a tetherball to be installed very soon.
Finance: The Finance Committee continues to make Pledge calls to congregants every Wednesday. Please see the wonderful Financial Report Card Susie Gullixson has prepared in the Courier.
The Rental Task Force with Sally and Susie at the helm continues to work diligently on renting out our building.
