The CVUU Book Lovers’ Group meets regularly via Zoom for book chats on novels (historical fiction, science fiction, and other genres) and non-fiction. The group provides intellectual stimulation and builds relationships.

Upcoming Reads:

The CVUU Book Lovers will discuss Ursula K. LeGuin’s novel, The Left Hand of Darkness, via Zoom on September 28th at 12:30 PM.
It is a classic science fiction novel about a human emissary to Winter, a world where people are ambisexual. Published in 1969, this award-winning book explores the themes of gender, culture, and alienation. For its time, this was a tremendous conceptual leap forward in considering the impact of gender on modern society set in the sci-fi world of Winter.
To join the discussion, the Zoom meeting ID is 859 8065 3730, passcode: 2665 and the dial-in number is +1 301 715 8592.
All our welcome to join in. If you wish to be added to their email blast just contact Vicki Caminer at vickicaminer@gmail.com.

And for more book talk, try out the Facebook group CVUU’s Bookworms. It’s a private group on Facebook, set up in January 2020 to share news of CVUU’s two book clubs, The Novel Ideas Book Club and the CVUU Book Lovers.

If book clubs are not your thing, but books are, you do not have to be a member of either book club to join the group! The page is chock-full of book talk and fellowship outside of scheduled reads and news of meetups.
