Board Bits

The CVUU Board of Directors met on Thursday, January 19, 2022, via Zoom. Board meeting minutes are typically available upon request from the CVUU Board Secretary or the Congregational Administrator (Susie Gullixson) approximately 30 days after the date of the Board meeting. The Board meets every month, either via Zoom or in person.  The meeting is usually on the third Thursday of each month at 7 PM. The meeting is open to congregants to observe. Congregants who want to present items to the Board must notify CVUU Board President Steve Ciganek before the meeting to be included on the agenda. The following is a synopsis of pertinent items. The next Board meeting will be February 16, 2023.

Rev Viola: Our in-service and Zoom numbers continue to trend upward. And we have a new music director!   Her first Sunday with us will be on Jan. 22nd. A search team is being established to find a DRE!

Treasurer’s Report: It has been a really good pledge month. Keep those pledges coming in!

Bylaw changes are coming!  Please be on the lookout for the proposed changes to finance and update on member description that will require a congregational vote. TBD.

In accordance with our Long Range Strategic Goals, we have hired a new Events Coordinator! Welcome Susan Stephens!

Tidewater Cluster: March 11th, 2023.    This will be an exciting all-day event hosted by CVUU. Please look for ways you can volunteer and participate. Our own Michael Toepper will provide food.

Pilot Trial for Covid Safety:  The Board approved making the balcony a masking-only area for 3 Sundays until the Board can review it at their next meeting on Feb 16th.  It will begin on Jan. 29th and remain in effect on Feb. 5th and Feb. 12th.

Word on the Street:  Committees are loving the new Budget Request Forms. Thanks Ed! Many congregants love having an Order of Service. Coordination with Ushers and Greeters is planned to assist in distributing them.
