Topic: Civil Rights on a Roll
Judy Heumann, who passed away this month, was known as the Mother of Independent Living, leading a successful civil rights movement for people with disabilities. Join us to discuss her achievements and legacy, how different America was before our recent civil rights laws for persons with disabilities, and our continued fight to access fundamental civil rights for all groups of people.
* Watch this brief 3-minute PBS Newshour segment which says it all.

* Judy’s book “Being Heumann” is available everywhere!
* The movie/documentary “Crip Camp,” a project of Judy and the Obamas documenting the young disability leaders creating a new world they subsequently brought to pass through relentless hard work and persistence, is available for free on YouTube and is also on Netflix.
Enjoy!!! It will get your energy flowing.
