Update from the President

It was great seeing so many folks last Sunday.  Welcome to our new members and to the many new visitors!

We have air purifiers in the sanctuary, social hall, classrooms and other spaces throughout the building. If you are unable to attend services in person please attend via Zoom.   Welcome to all!

As we continue to do more in person activities at CVUU with children,  we are mindful of adjustments that we need to make as we gather together in person. We have resumed in person Children’s Religious Education and the nursery is open Sunday during the service.  The CDC has just approved vaccines for children 4 and under and we will be getting updated guidance from the Commonwealth of Virginia and details about the children’s vaccines and availability. On May 10 the Board adopted the following guidance for masking:  Mindful that children 4 years of age and under are not yet able to be vaccinated for COVID and mindful that the value of having our RE program is crucially important to our beloved community, the CVUU Board is now requiring masking for everyone inside the church building when children 4 and under are present. The intention of the CVUU Board is to remove this requirement 60 days after vaccines are available for those 4 and under.

We’re wrapping up our FY23 Stewardship campaign as the month of June draws to a close.  If you haven’t pledged for the upcoming year, please do so now, we need the information to update membership and the budget. And please update your pledge using the VANCO application if that’s how you donate. A reminder for folks to continue to fulfill their pledge commitment for this fiscal year – which ends June 30th.

Social Hall Floor Bond Campaign

CVUU is dependent on income beyond your generous pledge commitments. We have lost much fundraiser and rental  income over the last several years due to the pandemic. The Board realizes this and is committed to accelerating the social hall completion so that it may generate rental income for CVUU from weddings, parties, dinners, meetings, receptions, seminars, workshops, etc.

We have now met our goal of 15000.00 in commitments for the Social Hall Bond campaign.  Congratulations and thank you!  Our Office administrator (Susie Gullixson) has already setup the VANCO account with a “Social Hall Floor” fund line for folks to make their payments.

The Building Council is working on estimates and installation schedule for the floor installation.  We will keep you updated.

Thank You
