Dear Ones,

This week, Gov. Ralph Northam announced that there would be an easing of COVID-19 restrictions.  This is optimistic news for all of us.  And I am happy to say that I received my first COVID-19 vaccination last week!  Aside from some soreness at the injection site, a minor headache and a little bit of achiness a few days later, it was relatively uneventful. I look forward to getting my second shot, and what it will mean for me as a “fully vaccinated person!” Even so, I will still need to be mindful of the recommendations made by the CDC, which can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated-guidance.html  Don’t forget, when we follow these and other recommendations, we demonstrate our commitment to uplifting the First and Seventh Principles of Unitarian Universalism, which ask us to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person and the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

Our Stewardship Campaign will be wrapping up soon.  If you have not already pledged, please do so by completing our online pledge form.  You can do so at this link: https://tinyurl.com/CVUU-Pledge. Knowing what you intend to give lets our church leadership know what programs and activities we can have for the coming church year.

CVUU still needs delegates for the virtual General Assembly (GA) of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) which is taking place from June 23rd to June 27th.  If you are interested in being a delegate please email me at minister@c-vuu.org.  But, whether or not you are a delegate, this is a wonderful event to attend. If you are attending, let’s have virtual lunch and dinner together at some point during the week.  And if you are a delegate, lunch and dinner are on me!

Don’t forget, there will be a Theme Reflection on Mar. 28th at 2 p.m. during which we will discuss this month’s theme of “Commitment.” Click here to join, or enter the Zoom meeting information (Meeting ID: 818 4816 2503 and Passcode: 0224).

My Check-In and Chat is still being held on Thursdays at 11 a.m. in Zoom. But, if you want to speak with me about a personal matter in private, you can set up an appointment with me through my Calendly page. Click here to join or enter the Zoom meeting information (Meeting ID: 870 1011 9918 and Passcode: 4430).

In honor of those who have already gotten their vaccine, and those who are planning on getting one, here is the song “Vaxxine” from the group Visqueen.

In peace and love,
Rev. Viola
