Sunday Service

Join us at 11 AM on Sunday for “Spirituality Before Religions” with guest speaker Stan Lee Thompson, ON ZOOM ONLY!

How do you create the balance between Science and Spirituality? Are we Spiritual beings having an Earthly experience?

Stan Lee Thompson, a native of Virginia, has worked with numerous organizations in the past. A Board member at the Portsmouth YMCA, as well as a Board member at Norfolk State University Foundation Board. For several years, Stan was active in the financial community, helping first-time homebuyers qualify for housing in South Hampton Roads. Stan enjoyed working with young boys in the YMCA’s Rites of Passage program. He is a proud father of two daughters who have blessed him with 5 grandchildren. Stan considers himself an educator, but more importantly, a student of life.

Stan’s spiritual journey started like most of us, with the religion of our parents, Christianity, as a Baptist. As early as age 10, Stan questioned the stories in the Bible, which he found inconsistent with his experiences. As a late teen, he converted to Seventh-day Adventism, learning that the 7th day of the week was Saturday, and later learned that in 325 C.E., during the Council of Nicaea, Constantine changed Saturday to Sunday. Stan converted from Christianity to Judaism for 20 years. Then, in 1991, Stan began reading about African History and African Spiritualism. He also studied some of the contributions of the Nile Valley civilizations to the world, which ultimately proved life-changing.

The theme for February is Embodying Resilience.
