Sunday Service

Join Us at 11 AM on Sunday, December 8th, for ” Neurotheology: The Science of Mystical Experiences” with Rev. Laura Horton-Ludwig.

Are mystical experiences real? And what does “real” mean, anyway, when the experience is “all in our head”? Today, we explore what neurotheology — the neuroscience of religious experience — can teach us about our brains and our human capacity for awe, wonder, and mystery.

After nearly 20 years as a minister serving Unitarian Universalist congregations from Illinois to California to Virginia, today Rev. Laura Horton-Ludwig (she/her) has a private practice at laurahortonludwig.com offering spiritual direction, coaching, and shamanic work for sensitive souls ready to reclaim their power, sparkle, and joy. She lives in Williamsburg, VA with her husband and their dog and cat, as well as the many trees and wild creatures who share the land with them. This year, she is also serving the UU Fellowship of Santa Cruz County, CA in an experimental mostly-remote ministry.

The theme for December is “The Practice of Presence.”

These services will be offered in person (AND ON ZOOM) at 11 AM.
