The theme for October is Cultivating Relationships. This past Sunday we talked about the two important parts of cultivating relationships which are the skills of listening and the ability to clearly communicate what you need. Our faith has a long history of being committed to these skills. The first principle: The inherent worth and dignity of every person; clearly calls us to develop that skill of sticking up for ourselves and being bold about our truths. So when it comes to Cultivating Relationships, our faith clearly tells us, “Listen to others and don’t be shy about expecting others to listen to you.”

October 30, 2021, will be CVUU’s first annual Trunk-or-Treat event in the CVUU parking lot from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We will hold our annual costume parade and the children can trick or treat safely at CVUU. This is for CVUU family and friends and not open to the public this year due to Covid-19 precautions. So we will not be advertising this event in the community. Everyone will have to follow CVUU Covid-19 rules. Hopefully, this can be a community event in the future and will grow into something bigger. We need volunteers to decorate their cars and be in costume.
