We are pleased to announce that on May 21, 2022, Coastal Virginia Unitarian Universalists will officially install and celebrate our new settled Minister, Rev. Viola Abbitt.

An installation is a ceremony to formally recognize that a Unitarian Universalist church and a minister are entering into a covenantal relationship. The installation marks the completion of the ministerial search process and usually takes place shortly after a new minister’s arrival. Since the congregation’s vote to call Rev. Abbitt, we have adapted together during the pandemic and are grateful to emerge ready to continue building a new future.

Having an installed minister means we are looking longer term. This is a time of hopes and dreams about the kind of ministry we can do together, and some of that will be articulated in the Service of Installation.

For those of you who cannot attend in person, you may attend via Zoom using this link: https://bit.ly/3Kyob3K. Please visit Viola’s Well Wishes Wall and post a note of blessing, memory, or hope on this celebratory occasion!

Religious professionals are invited to process in person or virtually. Please indicate your intention by emailing installation@c-vuu.org no later than May 9, 2022.  The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow.

We look forward to seeing you there!

This is the Order of Service for Saturday if you would like a printed copy:
