From the Minister 6/22/22

Dear Ones,

This week, the Unitarian Universalist Association’s General Assembly, the national gathering of UUs, is in session in Portland, OR.  And that is where I am right now as I write this.  It is so good to be with UUs from all over the world.  And it is even more wonderful to see the people that I have not seen in so many years. A special “thank you” goes out to the people who have agreed to be delegates for CVUU, Elisa Dickon, Tessa Ellis, and Jennifer Shore.

General Assembly, or GA, is not just for delegates from member congregations, it is for any person who considers themself a Unitarian Universalist. The theme this year is Meet the Moment: Reimagining Radical Faith Community. In addition to there being programming centered around that theme, there are many conference offerings here that provide information on different aspects of our faith, and important tools for living and congregational life.  While some events are live, many of them are on demand, so there is some flexibility for participants. It is not too late to register if you think you might be interested.  The registration link is here:

This is just a reminder that at the end of this week, I will be on study leave for two weeks.  Stephanee Howell chairs our Lay Pastoral Care Team, and she and they will be able to handle most pastoral care issues.  For other matters, know that we have wonderful staff in place who can handle most things that come up and our Congregational Administrator Susie Administrator is always available to answer your questions.

In closing, I want to remind all of you that as Unitarian Universalists, we are part of an important and prophetic religious movement.  Together we can do great things and make the world a better place for everyone.  I am glad to be in this with all of you.

In peace and love,

Rev. Viola
