Dear CVUU Members and Friends:
So many things to be grateful for and more great stuff coming up!
I am so grateful to all the people who made our NEST week happen. Each night for the past week, 45 or so folks were offered hospitality – a hot meal, a safe, warm, dry place to sleep, breakfast in the morning, and this year there were hot showers! What a beautiful ministry this is. Thank you.
This past Saturday, 50 of us gathered to learn about compassionate communication, a tool that allows us to speak our truths directly and in a way that is much more likely to be heard. Look for more opportunities to practice that skill in small groups.
This Sunday, February 16, our guest preacher with be the Reverend Jennifer Ryu. Reverend Ryu previously served as minister in Williamsburg, and she was one of the first ministers who reached out to this congregation after the sudden death of Rev. Jennifer Slade. I was talking with Rev. Ryu recently and told her about all the wonderful things you have been doing, and when I asked if she would like to come preach, her eyes lit up, and she gave a resounding yes! It will be so good to welcome her to CVUU.
I invite you all to save the date for this year’s General Assembly in Providence, Rhode Island June 24-28. If you are interested in serving as a delegate, contact me by next Tuesday, February 18.
And don’t forget to register to vote!
Peace and love to you all,
Rev. Justine Sullivan
Interim Minister, CVUU
