Board Bits September 2022

The CVUU Board of Directors met via Zoom on Thursday, September 15, 2022. Board meeting minutes are typically available upon request from the CVUU Board Secretary or the Congregational Administrator (Susie Gullixson), approximately 30 days after the board meeting date. The Board meets monthly on Zoom and in person as we attempt a hybrid version to include all. The meeting is usually on the third Thursday at 7:00 PM. The meeting is open for congregants to observe. Congregants who want to present items to the Board must notify CVUU Board President Steve Ciganek before the meeting so that they can be included on the agenda. The following is a synopsis of pertinent items. The next Board meeting is on October 20, 2022.

Minister-Rev Viola: The Homecoming Service was a huge success.  It was well attended, and the activities following the service created a fun environment for all.

Director of Religious Education (DRE) Paul Greggs: Religious Education began this past Sunday, September 11th, 2022.   RE curriculum is in place for the fall

Treasurer’s Report: August had an $8,631 deficit, a surplus of $31,585 year to date.  This is due to many members making their pledge payment early in the year; our July/August electric bill during the summer heat and musician services are $1,200 over budget.

Board Appointments: Lisa Kilczewski was appointed to an opening on our Nominating Committee.

Cluster Assembly Meeting: Ken Saucer Liaison – The Cluster is set for March 11, 2023, at CVUU! Keynote speaker TBD. Look out for ways you can volunteer and participate, including the ability to host visitors in our homes.

Word on the Street: Homecoming Service was a huge success! How can we make Stones and Shells and information about Order of Service and other church information more accessible and visible?

Board Bouquets:  A huge thank you to the Community Table and all the volunteers for making our Homecoming service a success.   Janet Gooch on the beautiful painting on our address sign.  Absolutely stunning!   Rev Viola for facilitating the Board in creating a Board Covenant.
