Board Bits

The  CVUU Board of Directors met via Zoom and in-person on February 20, 2024. Board meeting minutes are typically available upon request from the CVUU Board Secretary or the Congregational Administrator (Susie Gullixson) approximately 30 days after the meeting date. The Board meets every month, either via Zoom or in-person.    The meeting is usually on the third Thursday of each month at 7 PM.

The next Board meeting will be March 20, 2025.

The meeting is open to congregants to observe. Congregational members who want to present items to the Board must notify CVUU Board President David Kidd before the meeting to include them on the agenda. I’m sharing a synopsis of relevant items here:

Rev. Viola: Rev Viola is on Sabbatical from December through February. During this time, staff, members of the congregation, and guest ministers lead our services. Pastoral Care Associates from our congregation remain available. More details are posted in our online newsletter, The Courier.
Rev Mark: The number of youth registered has increased from 30 to 35! Programming for youth and adults continues to be offered.

Finance Committee/Ed Welp: Pledges continue to come in. Attendance has increased 6.6% since January 2024. This is the first increase since the pandemic, in contrast to the decline we were experiencing.

Solar Project/ Green Initiative: Robyn Thomas and Doug Throp presented the plan for fulfilling the Green Initiative solar panels to the Board.   The solar plans have been drawn up, and the Board has unanimously approved the installation of the solar panels. The projected energy savings is 25% annually. Most of the funding was provided by the Green Initiative fund, a private donor, and the anticipated government refund. Completion of the project is estimated to be May 1, 2025.
