The CVUU Board of Directors met via Zoom and in person on January 16th, 2025. Board meeting minutes are typically available upon request from the CVUU Board Secretary or the Congregational Administrator ( Susie Gullixson) approximately 30 days after the Board meeting date. The Board meets every month, either via Zoom or in person. The meeting is usually on the third Thursday of each month at 7 PM. The meeting is open to congregants to observe. Congregational members who want to present items to the Board must notify CVUU Board President David Kidd before the meeting to include them on the agenda. The following is a synopsis of pertinent items. The next Board meeting will be February 20, 2025.
Rev. Viola: Rev Viola remains on Sabbatical through February. During this time, our services are being led by staff, members of the congregation, and guest ministers. Pastoral Care Associates from our congregation remain available. More details are posted in our online newsletter, The Courier.
Rev. Mark: The Buddy Breakfast will be on February 9th. Please sign up as this is a great way for the young and old to get to know each other better! Also, please check out the numerous Adult RE programming set to take place this winter and spring, from Astronomy to Art and an Author Zoom event with Nico Lang.
All detailed in the Courier!
Finances/Ed Welp: With the sale of the old UCN building and the pending long-term rental contract, CVUU FY 2026 should be in good shape, especially to restore previously cut hours and budget expenses.
Cottage Meetings: The Stewardship Committee is asking all congregants to please sign up for the cottage meetings so we can hear from everyone!
The Board formally met with our new membership coordinator, Gena Dickens! Gena relayed she is enjoying getting to know everyone and is excited that two new people joined recently and three new people have expressed interest in joining.
This Sunday, Jan 19th, we will have a cake to celebrate and say goodbye to Henry and Annelore Butler during the coffee hour after church. David Kidd will say a few words during the announcement portion of the service.
Board Bouquets:
Annelies Brock: We are so grateful for all you do, in the pulpit and behind the scenes. You are wonderful!
Robyn Thomas and David Howell, thank you for all the hard work in securing the lease for our long-term rental!
Sally Daniel: There are not enough Bouquets to say how thankful we are for you!
