Board Bits 12/15/22

The CVUU Board of Directors met on Thursday, December 15, 2022, via Zoom. Board meeting minutes are typically available upon request from the CVUU Board Secretary or the Congregational Administrator (Susie Gullixson) approximately 30 days after the date of the Board meeting. The Board meets every month, either via Zoom or in person. The meeting is usually on the third Thursday of each month at 7 PM. The meeting is open to congregants to observe. Congregants who want to present items to the Board must notify CVUU Board President Steve Ciganek before the meeting to be included on the agenda. The following is a synopsis of pertinent items. The next Board eating will be on Jan. 19, 2023.

Rev Viola: Our congregation continues to grow! Rehearsals for the Christmas Pageant are on the way for our Christmas Eve service. The minister continues to support the Religious Education Committee and teachers. The Search Committee for the music director continues and is in the second round of interviews.

Treasurer’s Report: Currently at a $3,000 deficit but still in the black for the year. Building maintenance was under-budgeted, and several repairs were needed for electrical maintenance and surge suppression.

Actions: Board voted to approve Chuck Kellen as a replacement for Tracy Navarra-Davis as a director for the remainder of her term. Welcome, Chuck!

Board voted to approve Susan Synder Stephens as our new Event Planner! This is part of the focus of the Marketing and Rental Task Force as they begin to expand CVUU’s ability to rent space. Welcome, Susan!
