Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Just one more holiday that will be difficult for some of us during this period of physical distancing and quarantine. But the romantic love that is the focus of Valentine’s Day is only one kind of love. At the service on Sunday, I mentioned eight different kinds of love. Some of you indicated that you wanted to know more about that. So, here is a link to an article that you may find of interest: https://www.mindbodygreen.com/articles/types-of-love
And speaking of love, and how love is more than just a word, know that if any of you are experiencing financial difficulties because of the extraordinary times we are all going through right now, CVUU is here for you. Contact me if you feel that you might need some financial assistance. We have a COVID Benevolent Fund and a Minister’s Discretionary Fund for that purpose. Know that any requests for assistance will be handled confidentially by me.
I hope you have had the opportunity to explore some of the materials the Unitarian Universalist Association put together for their “Thirty Days of Love” event, which ends this week, with a focus on Restoration and Repair. You can find readings, videos, and podcasts for the whole family on the topic at the following link: https://sidewithlove.org/week-four-february-7-13-2021. The UUA has given us lots to think about. We are all busy, but I hope that you will have had an opportunity to engage with some of what they provided. You can share your thoughts about it, and our theme of Beloved Community, at the Theme Reflection on the fourth Sunday (Feb. 28th) at 2 p.m. and the fourth Monday (Feb. 22nd) at 6 p.m.
There is still time to be a part of our New Member Sunday on February 21st. If you are someone who has been a part of our community, and would like to become a member, please call me or send me an email by February 11th so that you can be a part of the luncheon and orientation we would like you to attend. My contact information is below.
The Check-In and Chat is still happening every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00am in Zoom. The Meeting ID is 870 1011 9918, and the passcode is 2428. If you do not use Zoom, you can participate by telephone by calling 646-876-9923 and use the same Meeting ID and passcode. Even if you cannot make the Check-In and Chat, if you want to speak with me about anything, you can call me on my cell, or you can set up an appointment with me through my Calendly page.
And because Valentine’s Day is coming, we are all entitled to hear at least one love song. So, with thanks to H.E.R., here is “The Best Part” . . . with an intro that gives a nod to “Free” by Deneice Williams.
May love fill your days!
